Chapter 72: Where's the Umbrella

Chapter 72: Where’s the Umbrella

After appearing, the Human Path of Pain looked around the surroundings. He glanced at Konan, then at Uehara to confirm their safety.

“Huh? Uehara was injured?”

When Human Path Pain saw the wound on Uehara’s shoulder, his brows suddenly wrinkled, and his voice was a little gloomy. “Konan, what happened? There isn’t enough Chakra in this body. Summon Tendo Pain…”

“It’s already okay.”

Konan shook her head and pointed at Yamanaka Fu on the ground. “The enemy has been dealt with. Now we need to get information about Danzo from his brain.”

“Okay, I get it.”

Human Path Pain nodded and picked up Yamanaka Fu from the ground.

Human Path Pain extracted the memory using Kyūkon no Jutsu (Absorption Soul Technique). His face was a bit unsightly, so he took out the soul of Yamanaka Fu and killed him directly.

Konan asked softly. “Is there any information about Danzo?”

“Yes, Danzo… won’t come to Amegakure anymore.”

The Human Path Pain told them the information he had retrieved. “Hmm. I am afraid Hanzo does not know it yet, but Danzo does not intend to cooperate sincerely with him.

Konoha’s Third Hokage forbade him from leaving Konoha. Shimura Danzo could only send his subordinates.

He did want to ally with Hanzo recently, but his actions were limited, so he left the negotiation and alliance to this man. “

“It looks like it was an empty hope.”

Konan’s eyes flashed with frustration, and she whispered in a low voice. “I thought, this time, we could get rid of Hanzo and Shimura Danzo together.”

“No, there was something else.”

Human Path Pain said in a deep voice, “In addition to collaborating with Hanzo. These ninjas were also responsible for searching for Uchiha Obito’s trails and trying to bring him back to Konoha… Although Uchiha Obito has hidden his identity, he was indeed a traitor.”

“Then there’s no need to recruit him again!”

Konan’s face was a little annoyed. She turned her head and glanced at the approaching Uehara, and continued. “I already warned them to stay away from Naraku. But that guy Uchiha Obito wanted to kill Naraku just because his real identity was revealed. Sooner or later, I’ll kill him!”

“Sensei, I don’t care.”

Uehara’s expression was a bit subtle. He looked down in the land at the feet of Konan and Human Path Pain. He whispered, “As long as Sensei and Nagato-sama need Obito-senpai, no matter what he does, I won’t care. …”

He started acting again.

Because Zetsu was hidden under the ground.

He must be able to hear their conversation.

After hearing Uehara’s words, Zetsu felt a little relieved. In his opinion, Nagato and Konan would accept the return of Uchiha Obito.

Unexpectedly, Konan’s face changed, and her voice was somewhat indifferent. “Nagato, we should not accept a guy who tried to hurt Naraku… Naraku is our family!”

Human Path Pain. “…”

He hadn’t said anything yet.

He didn’t even think about re-accepting Uchiha Obito!

However, to appease his irritable friend, Pain sighed and said. “Forget it. Once our mission is over, let us find a way to recruit Uchiha Obito, and then we can secretly ambush him and kill him. Is this okay?”

“Yes.”

Konan’s expression eased a lot.

Uehara secretly praised himself while Zetsu scolded the three people from underground.

Fortunately, he had hidden underground and eavesdropped for a while. Otherwise, how would they know that Nagato and Konan had such vicious minds?

Were these still those two people who were easily deceived?

He couldn’t figure out exactly what went wrong.

This was Uchiha Obito’s fault! He shouldn’t have touched Uehara!

Despite knowing that he was Konan’s disciple, he still wanted to kill him and was almost killed by the little guy!

He truly was one of the rare losers within the Uchiha clan…

There’s no need to stay here anymore. Black Zetsu and White Zetsu spat out a few curses about Nagato and Konan and then went to Uchiha Obito to report the bad news.

Above ground.

After solving their disagreement about Obito, Pain and Konan mentioned another piece of information. It was about the next meeting with Kandachi.

Konan intended to take advantage of this opportunity to eliminate Hanzo’s right-hand man Kandachi and the Ame Ninja he brought.

Human Path Pain nodded. Looking at Konan and Uehara, he whispered. “If you encounter danger, just summon the Deva Path. I’m always ready for your summons.”

“I know.”

After Pain left, Konan’s eyes slowly turned and stopped on Uehara’s body, “Naraku, come with me, I have something to say to you.”

“…”

Uehara was confused.

Kimimaro, Hirakawa, and Haku saw the master and disciple walk far away and stayed where they were.

Konan seemed a little absent-minded as she walked.

She walked in front of Uehara without saying a word. Even when heavy rain fell on her head, Konan did not respond.

A bamboo umbrella appeared above Konan’s head.

Uehara called her out, holding the bamboo umbrella in his hand, and looking at her earnestly. He said. “Sensei, it’s raining.”

“Is it raining again?”

Konan slowly raised her head and watched the increasing raindrops fall heavier on the ground before she finally spoke. “Don’t go. Just stay here.”

“Okay.”

Uehara follows obediently.

Konan’s face was a little displeased. She hesitantly looked at Uehara and said, “Today, your fighting style was very problematic… When I am in danger, you should not save me. Run away, save your own life.”

“How would that be possible?”

Uehara shook his head quickly.

Uehara understood Konan’s thoughts. She was probably thinking of Yahiko and Nagato, who had tried to save her many years ago. As a result, Yahiko committed suicide, and Nagato’s legs were disabled.

Did he act too much today?

Was Konan actually scared?

Yes, Konan was indeed scared.

The iris on Konan’s eyes quivers lightly. Her expression gradually became a little cold. “Naraku, I am your Sensei, and what I teach you is correct!”

“But…”

Uehara’s mouth twisted, and in this somewhat chilly rain, he put on an innocent and warm smile. “Okay, Sensei.”

After seeing Konan nodded, Uehara smiled undiminished and asked. “If one day I am in danger and might lose my life, what would Konan-sensei do?”

“I won’t let this happen.”

Konan frowned and did not answer the question directly.

Uehara reluctantly continued to ask. “What if that does happen? We can’t guarantee our safety.”

“…”

Konan’s face paled for a moment, and she stretched out his palm, taking away the umbrella from Uehara’s hand with little force.

Konan turned her head and left with a bamboo umbrella, leaving Uehara in the rain.

This blue-haired woman walked in the rain with an umbrella and shouted. “If that happened, I would leave you behind and escape alone.”

Uehara stood in the rain, watching Konan leave, step by step.

Uehara could understand why Konan was angry, but why did she take his bamboo umbrella and leave him in the rain by himself?

The rain ran down Uehara’s hair and wet his clothes.

Uehara slowly raised his head, his voice a little low and soaked in the heavy rain. “If it happened one day, I hope you really would escape by yourself… But Sensei, would you really do that?”

“…”

The rain was getting worse.

Pieces of origami butterflies swiftly passed through the rain, gathered by Uehara’s side, and formed into Konan’s figure.

The woman stretched out her arm and hugged Uehara’s neck.

Uehara sighed. His acting skills were too strong.

Uehara could only obediently embrace Konan’s body. He reached out his hand and patted her on the back, soothing her emotions. “Konan-sensei… where’s our umbrella?
