FALLING IN LOVE WITH HIM - HER FIRST LOVE

Chapter 47 - Opposites Attract

Hera took advantage of the closeness at that moment to study his handsome face.

It wasn’t a deliberate action.

Apparently, her eyes had a mind of their own and undoubtedly pleased with the visual exploration.

His charcoal black hair was short on the sides and long enough in the front to cover his eyes. He had styled it using the grooming gel and parted to the side. Hera knew he had finger-combed it and she could see the trail his fingers left behind.

.

‘How perfectly it complemented his face.’

His thick dark eyebrows were perfectly shaped, and she would do anything to trade his thick, long eyelashes with hers.

‘Oh, and those magnetic eyes!’

She fell in love with his beautiful eyes on that day when she met him for the first time. She could see the light freckles on his nose. It never ceased to amaze Hera how they both had the same straight-edged nose, but his nose was slightly longer than hers. And those deep dimples whenever appeared on his cheeks made her want to blow raspberries.

His clean-shaven jaw looked so sharp she resisted the urge to run her fingers over it. Astonishingly, they both had a similar heart-shaped mouth with full lips. Hunter had always teased her that she couldn’t get enough satisfaction with just borrowing his last name, so she had to steal his nose and lips as well.

‘His soft, intoxicating lips are looking so temptingly delicious.’

Hera’s heart skipped a beat, and her eyes went wide involuntarily.

‘Oh, my God! Did I just think of kissing him?’

With an audible gasp, Hera came back to her senses as she felt his hot breath on her lips. He had crouched down a little to match her height. She tried to remember the last bit of their conversation.

‘Yeah, right, did I miss him?’

He had asked her a question. Hera cleared her throat to make sure she wouldn’t stutter because of their proximity.

“Well, you know, perfectly you’re the reincarnation of the Satan himself and if I’m supposed to be the Goddess as you say that means we’re two dead opposite people. Hence, why there won’t be any kind of possible union between you and I. Missing you is the last possible thing on my mind, Mr Hunter,” said Hera.

Of course, she lied.

He never left her thoughts, but he didn’t need to know the truth. He’s on her mind all the time, and he’s all she could remember.

Weirdly enough, she did miss him.

A smile graced his lips, slowly spreading wide into a grin, which soon turned into amused laughter. Hera glared, wishing to throttle him.

‘Oh, even his teeth are perfect. A set of white pearls. One can never find any flaw in him, not fair at all.’

“Goddess, I knew you sucked in Math and Chemistry. Now I’ve to tutor you Physics as well,” Hunter said, feigning disappointment. Clueless, Hera could only utter one word, “Huh?” Hunter laughed again at her dumbfounded expression.

“It’s static electricity, Love. Opposites attract. Don’t you know that?” He moved to close the distance, and she gasped in surprise when her breasts crushed against his chest. “You and I are the perfect examples of it, Sweetheart. We’re the dead opposite, that’s the reason why we attract each other. If I am the Satan and you’re the Goddess, then you’ll be this Satan’s Goddess. Forever. Nobody else’s. Only mine,” he finished.

Worried, Hera eyed everywhere, praying for someone to interrupt them while his face inched closer. The tip of his tongue came out to wet his lips, and Hera knew what’s coming next. Her eyes widened, and he didn’t waste a second before crashing his lips on hers.

Hera was running out of breath, and Hunter was in no mood to release her lips. The more she tried to resist, the tighter his hold became. His hard torso was pushing more into hers with much pressure, and the heat coming from his body made her feel hot. His one hand rested on her waist, holding her in place, and the other went up to her hair. Her hair came undone, tumbling over her back as he pulled the hair tie, releasing her hair free. His fingers disappeared into her hair.

‘He just ruined my perfectly made ponytail.’

That did it for Hera. Well, only she knew how much effort it took to brush those stubborn tangles.

Using both hands, she pushed him hard on his chest with all her might. “Stop it, Goddess,” he grumbled against her lips, still not ready to release her.

“I can’t breathe,” she managed to whisper in between the kiss, and he took a step back, pulling away. But he didn’t look pleased.

‘What? Am I not allowed to breathe anymore?’

Hera tried to fill her lungs with much-needed oxygen while Hunter groaned in irritation. “You just ruined my perfectly made hair,” Hera accused glaring at him. He ran his eyes on her long brunette hair, which reached up to her waist. He wound a fistful of hair around his palm and inhaled the smell.

It smelt like strawberry. “I like it this way. It looks perfect now,” he said, nodding in approval.

‘Is he for real?’

Untangling her hair from his hand, Hera pushed him hard on his chest again. Her sudden action caught him totally off guard, and he stumbled on his feet.

“Listen carefully, Hunter, because this is the last time I’m telling you this. You can’t just come and kiss me whenever you want because you’re not my boyfriend. So don’t ever kiss me again and don’t touch my hair. You have no right to do so. Please accept the fact that we are not together anymore. Whatever we had, it ended two years ago. Let’s part our ways without holding any grudge. You’ve moved on and let me move on too,” she said everything in one go, and surprisingly, he was too calm after listening to her every word.

But Hera knew him better. She got tensed as his eyes darkened.

‘Dear God, did I say too much?’

She knew him inside and out. His silence was not a good sign. She was very well aware of that dangerous bad boy he kept hidden behind this good boy facade. He smiled. That charming smile would woo anyone, but Hera knew the danger lingering behind that smile. He took a step forward, and she found herself sandwiched between him and the locker once again. Hera gulped in fear, trying to swallow the uneasiness.

“Whatever we have, it’s never going to end, Goddess. It stays forever. Parting ways with me is your one wish that’ll never come true,” he said with his usual arrogant tone, a smug smile glowing on his face.

Hera’s expression was apprehensive as she watched his hands move. He wrapped his hand around her waist, pulling her impossibly closer. His other hand went around her neck, grabbing a fistful of hair. He tugged it slightly, angling her face to his.

“And about kissing you? That, Sweetheart, is my right. Who says I can’t kiss you? Who’ll stop me anyway?” He asked rhetorically, and to prove his point, he kissed her again. And the kiss showed her just how angry he’s. He wasn’t kissing because Hera felt like he’s punishing her. She struggled, trying to resist, but his hold only got tightened. Once he’s satisfied, he let her breathe.

Hera wiped her wet lips with the back of her hand, repeating the action while scowling in disgust. Hunter smiled as one of the sweetest memories crossed his thoughts. His gaze glued to her swollen rosy lips while he remembered their first kiss. The images blurred before vanishing from his thoughts when Hera opened her mouth only to irk him more.

“You have a girlfriend, Hunter. For God’s sake, at least think about Samantha. She genuinely loves you. Why are you playing with her feelings? She doesn’t deserve this. I don’t want her to get hurt because of me. I know what it feels when someone breaks your heart,” she spat indignantly. A dark look crossed over Hunter’s face. A muscle twitched as he clenched his jaw.

She had hit the nerve.

“Samantha can go to hell for all I care. She is not my fucking problem. She knew what she’s signing up for and if you’re so worried about her then say the word I want to hear, and I’ll dump her this instant,” he said with finality. Hera knew what he was demanding from her. He wanted everything to go back to the way it was between them. She shook her head in disbelief. Crossing her arms around her torso, Hera scoffed.

“You have some nerve! You want me to take you back?” She laughed bitterly. “Very well then, stop sleeping around, become a Saint and then come to lick my feet begging for forgiveness. I’ll think about taking you back that day,” Hera said with an empty promise. She’d no intention of heeding to his ridiculous demands.

“I promise you, Love, when the day comes I’ll do more than licking,” Hunter uttered, gritting his teeth. His fist at the nape of her neck tightened, and he kissed her one more time. It was a quick, angry smooch. He released her from his hold and pulled back.

Hera let out a short, sharp cry of pain, startling him, and his hand froze midway.
