FALLING IN LOVE WITH HIM - HER FIRST LOVE

Chapter 80 - Awaiting The Prince Charming

To Hera’s surprise, Abby squealed in excitement. “I’m so happy for you, Hera and you know I’ll never judge you. I thought it’s no secret that I truly ship you guys?” Abigail asked rhetorically, earning a smile of gratitude from Hera.

Hera then noticed she was packing her luggage, and Abby informed her that she was spending her weekend at her friend’s house.

Hera opened up her heart and talked about how her friends ridiculed her decision. Abby listened to everything patiently, giving Hera all the attention she needed. She convinced Hera that people would judge her either way, so she shouldn’t bother thinking about them. Abby told her to do what her heart desired.

“Follow your heart. That’s what every epic love story in all the romance novels says anyway,” Abby said, and Hera grinned nodding in agreement.

Hera felt relieved after talking to her cousin, as she always knew to say the right thing. She should’ve known that her cousin would never judge her and would understand her priorities as her best friend.

“Now tell me about the help you need?” Abigail asked with a reassuring smile. As soon as Hera revealed her plans, her cousin widened her eyes, and her mouth fell open in shock. She asked multiple times whether Hera was sure about her plans. Finally, she agreed to do it but hesitated a bit as she’d never done it before. Hera suggested that all they required was Danny’s phone to watch a few videos on YouTube.

“Why don’t you go and take a shower meanwhile, I finish packing my luggage?” Abby asked, and Hera agreed. She was glad that all her roommates had already left and the room was all hers. After a while, Abby came with Danny’s cell phone, and they watched the videos online. They spent almost an hour watching videos. Two and a half hours later, Abby finished dolling up Hera for her date.

Hera wore the black dress Hunter bought her for the welcome party. She wanted him to see her in that dress because she needed to know if she comes close enough with Bianca’s grace and beauty.

Abby used the concealer on her face, and after spreading it evenly on her skin, she applied compact powder.

Dusting off the excess powder, she applied the blush on her cheeks, defining her cheekbones. She used the eyeshadow matching the blush perfectly. Abby finished with dabbing a nude lipstick on her lips.

Hera didn’t want any sticky mess on her face, so Abby kept it simple and easy. They didn’t even think about using eyeliner and mascara because they both knew it would turn into a disaster. Last time they tried using an eyeliner, Hera had to wash her face thrice to clean up the mess as she could never sit still and it would burn like hell hurting her eyes.

Hera giggled as it tickled her when Abby ran her fingers over the swell of her breasts, applying a pink cream blush that came with a hint of sparkle. Abby showed earrings which she borrowed from her friend and Hera shook her head, refusing to wear them. She never liked wearing any jewellery or accessories. With a groan, Abby put them back into the box.

“There you go, my lovely Princess. Now we await the arrival of your Prince charming,” Abby said, arranging Hera’s hair on her shoulder. She smiled, watching Hera through the mirror as her cousin blushed at her choice of words. Hera returned her smile, which said she’s pleased with the result.

‘Now, what if my Prince charming has forgotten our date for real and doesn’t come to pick me?’

Hera was on the verge of losing her hope, the anticipation slowly dying down. All the hard work, time and energy, her effort to earn his appreciation, everything would be wasted. She would be left heartbroken and not to forget the humiliation it would bring along.

Suddenly, the doorknob rattled as someone twisted it back and forth, and Hera’s heart skipped a beat. She knew it was Hunter as he’s the only one who never knocks her door apart from her brother. She was very familiar with the way he twists the knob. Always impatient, with much-added urgency, and the aggressiveness it carries had always been hard to miss.

“Ah, boys and their impatience!” Abby said, rolling her eyes. Hera took a deep breath before letting it out slowly. Abby sprayed perfume on Hera’s wrist and asked her to rub it on her other wrist, then a little spritz on the inside of her thumb which she rubbed behind Hera’s ears.

“You’re late,” Hera heard him yell from outside, voice filled with annoyance as his knuckle banged the door. Hera looked at the clock, and she still had ten more minutes until its six. She took out a black scarf from the closet and covered her head with it. Abby whisper yelled at her, scolding her for ruining her perfect look.

“What? I want to surprise him,” said Hera, and Abby snorted in return. “Surprise or shock?” She questioned for which Hera scowled at her. Abby was a little afraid as she thought that Hunter might take out his wrath on her.

“If he doesn’t like it and gets angry, you’ve to save me from his fury,” Abby warned her cousin and walked to the door. She pulled the door shut behind her, not letting him in and received a glare from him for doing so. “Bring her back by ten, and darling, you look yummy,” she said with a teasing smirk. “Fuck off, Aligator,” Hunter said, poking her in the forehead. Abby scowled at him for the absurd nickname and gladly escaped before Hera could come out.

She glanced over her shoulder and yelled, “How difficult is it for you to use Abigail in place of Alligator?” Hunter ignored her yell of disapproval as he heard her stomping her feet in anger while she walked away.

Hunter impatiently kicked the door with the tip of his boot and yelled once again, “You’re late.” With his head bent down and hands slipped into the pockets of his pants, he was eyeing his boots absent-mindedly, when Hera opened the door. Hunter’s eyes shifted from his boot to her feet covered in flip-flops. Her white gold anklet shone brightly against her black footwear.

With a sharp intake of breath, Hera took a step back and watched Hunter doing the same. He walked backwards until his back rested against the steel railings. Her heart filled with overwhelming emotions as his handsomeness was too much for her to resist.

‘Goodness, we match!’

Hera’s eyes automatically wandered all over him. He wore black jeans with a black dress shirt, it was untucked, and he kept the first two buttons unbuttoned. His black medallion rested on his chest, adding more to his hotness. With his cuffs undone, he’d finished his look with a black leather jacket and black boots. His hair free of hair gel flew all over his eyes.

‘What made you step back, Hunter? Did I disappoint you already?’

Hera couldn’t stop herself feeling inferior in front of him. He looked so handsome and hot as hell. Hera could only describe his looks as a heavenly sight for anyone to admire.

Hunter’s eyes slowly travelled up her legs and stopped on her milky white thighs where her dress ended. A slow smile appeared on his lips as he recognised the dress. He’d only seen her wearing it in the picture. She looked sexier in real as his gaze headed further upward.

If he thought she looked hot in the picture, he now felt it didn’t do any justice in capturing her beauty.

“What happened to the high heel footwear that came with the dress?” He asked without lifting his eyes from the top edge of her dress as it held his undivided attention. “I can’t walk in that even if my life depended on that and you know it. So, I gave them to Evie, and surprisingly, we’re about the same size,” Hera answered him calmly, but inside she was anything but calm. She was aware of his eyes now feasting on her curves.

“I paid for them!” He muttered under his breath as he finally moved his eyes up to meet hers.

Hera bit back a smile as she saw him frown.

“What the,” he stopped himself from cursing and asked, “Why are you covered in that scarf? It doesn’t go with the dress. Can you please take it off?” Smiling sweetly at him, Hera nodded a yes. “Anything for you, my Prince Charming,” she said, and slowly removed her scarf.

She smirked with pride as she got the expected reaction from him. She ran her fingers through her hair, arranging it on her bare shoulders just like Abby did earlier. She watched in amusement as Hunter’s jaw clenched and his fingers closed into fists. “How do I look, Hunter? Did you like my new look?” She asked, while her fingers pushed back the bangs falling over her eyes.
