His head which had plummeted collapsed right beside Xavier’s broken down figure and the pool of blood beneath it. Whereas his body collapsed onto the bundle of threads scattered around.

Knowing that it wasn’t over, Xavier who could barely see, barely feel anything and had the constant sound of ringing echoing inside of his ears struggled to get up.

ɴ[0)ᴠᴇʟ Blood was gushing out from every hole in his body, he could barely even breathe because of how clogged up everything was.

Even with [Hyper-Regeneration: Level 1] Being left constantly active his wounds were still having trouble healing.

The only reason Xavier was even able to pull off an attack like that again was because of it. He focused all of his [Hyper-Regeneration] around his brain area in order for him to remain conscious.

As a result however, his body had broken down.

Xavier looked over at the head of the smiling ogre beside him. Half of Xavier’s mask was cracked but the entirety of the smiling ogre’s mask had shattered showing him his face._.

One eye was red while another was brown. Xavier found this confusing.

‘Where’s his body? It holds the most blood for me to devour it to heal up…’

Before Xavier could make out what all of this meant, countless threads wrapped themselves around his immobilised figure before raising it up into the air.

With the strands tightening themselves around every corner of his body, the luminous orange haired girl’s figure slowly became visible as the smoke cloud dispersed.

She had her arms stretched towards him with the strands ready to decapitate him and tear him from limb to limb.

She couldn’t believe what she’d witnessed. The risk he took in order to defeat the ogre.

“Oi.. .What are you?” She asked with a cold smile. “At the end, you could have but you chose not to escape his attack with your ability.”

“Then you took that life-threatening attack and gambled on whether or not it would kill you…”

“Taking that attack forced us to drop our guard, giving you the opening to finish off the ogre… The more I think about it the more I don’t understand.”

She placed her palm on her face.

“What Vampire… No what living being risks having their life on edge like that? Leaving their chance of victory to a gamble where their life is the one on the line…”

“It’s as if you’re purposely trying to kill yourself while taking the enemy with you.”

At first Xavier didn’t respond, he only grinned and hung his head. But after a while.

“Do you really have time- *Cough* …To be talking to me? *Cough* W-Won’t killing me now be your best bet? *Cough* *Cough* *Cough*

“There’s no need. It doesn’t take an expert to tell that you’ll die by those wounds. Even your regeneration can’t save you.”

“Ha… Hahaha… *Cough* *Cough* Hahahahaha…”

Blood gushed out of Xavier’s mouth as he laughed, with every exhale he could hear the gurgling in his punctured lungs. He slowly raised his head displaying the bright red smile on his face. Sending a shiver down her spice.

A green light highlighted Xavier’s body and in almost an instant, all of his injuries repaired themselves, leaving him behind without not even a scratch.

Even his severed arm which was on the ground, was suddenly launched at him before attaching itself back into place.

The female Vampire who’d been watching this was left dumbfounded.

“What… What did you just do!?” She asked, startled as she took a step back.

Xavier’s happy and smiley expression remained as he asked.

“Do you know why people are scared of dying?”

“Huh…?” She let out in a confused tone.

“There are two reasons as far as I’m aware… Living beings in general have been programmed to seek survival and because people are afraid of what comes after it.”

“Why… Why are you telling me this? Why are you even asking me questions? You’re my hostage in this situation!”

“Am I?” Xavier asked before shutting his eyes. “Devour.”

A stream of blood burst out of the smiling ogre’s body which had been caught in by the threads. It streamed towards and into Xavier’s mouth before he began gulping it down.

The girl tried using her threads to stop Xavier from drinking but it’d either go around or through the threads, showing no signs of stopping regardless of what she did.

Notification after notification, coming non-stop as if there was a bug on the system. Xavier couldn’t believe his eyes as he continued to devour.

The female Vampire who’d been watching tried tightening the threads around his neck to stop him but it was no use, he was focusing all of his defence and regeneration in said neck’s area.

Xavier’s limbs which were being unprotected were all slashed off simultaneously, leaving his figure with only a neck hanging by a thread.

Yet even in that situation Xavier was still gulping down the blood whose contents were almost finished.

[Thread Manipulation: Bundle Of Threads – Spear]

As her threads bundled together to form a spear, she witnessed something unbelievable. Blood streamed out from Xavier’s severed limbs, connecting themselves to the severed parts before pulling them in and attaching themselves back.

By the time she’d launched her spear at Xavier’s chest. It his limbs had already reattatched themselves, and since the threads were no longer bounding them, there was nothing to stop them-

*CLANG!*

The spear was launched right back her, right past her face forcing a shiver down her spine.
