Rewind System: Vampire Harem In The Apocalypse

81 Chapter 81: The Snow Princess.

The wind bullet shot straight at her figure, heading right for her head at hyperspeed. In addition to reducing any speed loss, the wind pressure propelled it to increase its speed.

It was the fastest bullet the man could fire, most Vampires wouldn’t even know what hit him.

And yet-

*Crackle!*

It halted.

The bullet had halted right before her eyes.

The young man was at a loss for words, he didn’t know what to say. He looked through the scope twice to confirm it.

The bullet was frozen in the middle of the air as she walked past it.

“Oi… Ring the alarms… That ain’t a normal Vampire…”

“What? But it’s just one-“

“I SAID RING THE ALARMS!” He shouted, interrupting the young man.

But by the time he had, it was already too late.

A snow-white wave of snowflakes was heading down the roads right towards the barrier at immense speed.

“W-What is that..?” The men on watch asked as they began taking a step back.

Those of the camp who were outside the tents eating and playing around as well as those who were on duty for other areas all noticed it. A giant shadow looming over them.

They all looked up at the snowflake wave with an expression of fear and disbelief..

Above their heads were the countless rain drops frozen and compressed together, creating a giant ice spike in the form of a cross beneath the clouds and above the barrier.

Ahead of the barrier the way of snowflakes was approaching, growing bigger the closer it got.

The man with the sniper instantly got up before turning his back and running.

“Re-Retreat!!!!”

*SHATTER!*

The barrier was instantly shattered as the ice cross descended, then came the snow and ice which swept everything up, freezing all which came into contact with it in an instant.

A steamy smoke cloud resulted from just how cold it was.

Once that cloud faded, the sight which resulted would have enough to demoralise anyone standing on the opposing side.

A giant frozen rising iceberg with a crystal blue ice cross on top. It’s size only increased with the rain droplets falling on it, freezing it further upon contact.

The surrounding flood had also completely frozen up to a certain distance, as a result. It was truly a sight to behold.

This very moment had marked the fall of a human safe point. The Third Overground Vampire Opposition Camp.

“I’m sleepy… Let’s go back…” Muttered the platinum white haired girl as she yawned while turning around.

The crystal floating beside her seemed to nod, as it followed after her.

The female vampire’s platinum hair swayed strongly at the extreme frosty winds which blew by her as she walked back to her base.

Her mission was finally complete and she’d exhausted quite a lot of energy with her attack and was feeling quite vulnerable.

Maybe that was why she noticed it. The presence of individuals, heading towards her location.

“How many of them?”

<An entire squadron of five, they appeared to have been nearby and were drawn to recent scaling of the attack.>

‘Ah… I can’t wait to go back and sleep in the freezer…’ She thought to herself with another yawn.

“If I can sense their presence, I’m guessing that they’re powerful, right?” She questioned.

<Affirmative.> The floating crystal responded.

Hearing this, the girl halted in her tracks before sitting on top of a throne of ice which had risen out of the ice trail beneath her.

“Then, let’s wait for them… Wake me up once they’re here.”

The young girl shut her eyes, and just like that, she fell asleep.

“The third camp has fallen… What do we do…?”

Inside of a dark room, six silhouettes were gathered in a discussion.

They were the ones who stood at the very top of the Vampire Opposition Corps, the ones who sent the orders and directed the corporation.

“It’s not so much as it just falling… All it took was one Vampire based on the video feedback… Just how strong are those god damn monsters!?”

The tension in the air was at its peak, losing a camp this early stage in the war would surely be detrimental, especially with how much of a pain it was to set up.

All of them were angered at the result, at the fact their investments into the defence barriers were taken out so easily.

“It’s fine… Let them have the third camp… It was our weakest camp… And besides, the military is almost done with their project.”

The moment he mentioned it, all their eyes widened as they turned to him.

There was only one project he could be referring to. The alpha project being executed by the military.

The reason the military was making barely any moves and only providing their weakest of soldiers was because they were investing all their research into investigating new EV, Evolution Energy source and training their most competent awakened members.

Those who made it half way through the training were powerful and still being kept at the military’s base.

The training was almost complete, and those who’d managed to last all the way until now, they were on a completely different league.

There were rumours saying that they’d surpassed human limitations, their strength was unrivalled.

“So, while we waste our numbers and get weaker, they only continue to increase their military power… Hahaha…” Muttered the silhouette by the corner of the room who’d barely spoken.

“But even… We have a bundle of monsters on our side as well, three different squadrons of five even have managed to survive entering the Vampire’s base, and one in particular has even taken out a Vampire Camp.”

The heavy tension in the room seemed to lift the moment the squadrons were mentioned.

“Those three groups… Thanks to them we’re not entirely helpless… Make sure to treat them well.”

“Of course.” Responded the silhouette in charge of the division which they were at.

“Speaking of them, how are they recovering? Are they in any condition to be sent out for another mission?”

“Recovering? They’re all engaged in battle as we speak.”

“What!? Don’t you think they deserve at least some rest after their recent mission.”

The silhouette of the leader of their division could be seen trembling as if trying to hold back his laugh.

“Rest? You don’t understand. Those people had almost everything taken from them by the Vampires. They won’t rest until they’ve slaughtered them all. They’re operating on the bare minimum.”

A group of five figures wearing grey uniforms were visible leaping from rooftop to rooftop as they charged in the direction of the iceberg.

The one leading the group was a long signal black-haired girl with determined orange eyes. Her grey uniform was specially modified in a way allowing her to make use of one of her strong points, her mobility and flexibility.

Behind her were four others. Members of her squad who were geared and wielding their weapons.

Twowere sword wielders. A spiky pine green haired young man and a smooth oxide red hair older man with a trimmed beard. They both carried longswords on their waist and were the group’s swordsman along with the leader.

The third man was a giant, he was bald and his uniform covered fully by steel armour. He carried a giant shield on his back, the tank of the group.

Lastly, was a short copper brown haired, innocent looking girl who wielded a bow, the group’s archer. Her plump chests was the biggest of the group, jiggling with every step which she took.

All of the group members would occasionally wonder how she managed to maintain balance with those things weighing her down.

This was squadron E of the Attack Division Vampire Opposition Corps. Squadrons which had managed to surpass a certain point in power are assigned by letters and no longer numbers.

Most of these lettered squadrons were in charge of dealing with the more powerful Vampires in the front line.

Their weapons had also been specialised designed to support their abilities as a result of this.

Without a doubt, they were powerful.

“Captain, target coming up ahead, just down this building. It appears that they’ve stopped moving.” Said the copper

Hearing this the signal black-haired girl’s expression turned serious.

“Is everyone ready!?”

The entire group nodded as they simultaneously responded.

“Yes, Captain!”

The platinum white haired young girl was awoken from her slumber as the floating crystal suddenly tapped her on her head.

“Are they here, already?”

<Affirmative, incoming attack from above.>

The girl slowly looked up only to find an arrow heading right for her head at incredibly fast speeds, it was launched by an archer hiding by the top of the building to her right.

Ignoring the arrows, she looked past it at the three figures which had leapt off the very same building, plummeting towards her.

Right before making contact with her, the arrow split up into five different arrows, each glowing brightly.
