The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Chapter 97 - Not Want Long Jie To Succeed Long Shaoming

Inside Long Shaoming’s study.

“What were you thinking, Shaoming? We discussed it before. You announced your retirement without even discussing it with the family. “Elder Long was enraged. How many times had he told his son that he didn’t want Long Jie to be his successor? It was not because he was not capable, but because he would destroy the centuries-old legacy. He would destroy the family for revenge. Or this was what Long Yuhan had been telling himself for years now.

Elder Long’s actions were enough to indicate how much he hated and loathed Long Jie and why did so was still unknown. He did everything in his power to keep Long Jie away from the family but then his wife and Long Jie’s grandmother had to come and screwed up all his plans. He made sure Long Jie never came back but he returned one day and terrifyingly transformed into something — he couldn’t decipher until now.

Today, Long Shaoming’s announcement shook old man’s world, his hate fir Long Jie was the reason he was alive. If he had to move hell to keep Long Jie away from family politics, he would. If he had to turn brothers against brothers to achieve his goal, he would. If he had to kill that little Xin bitch to break Long Jie, he would do it too.

“Everyone in Long Clan approves of my decision. If you are worried about Yuan and Wei, I have talked to them before. They showed no interest in stepping up in my position. They are pleased with Long Jie leading the family and the clan. He has been managing the Long groups for a decade now.” Long Shaoming informed his father tonelessly.

Long Shaoming knew his father was brainwashing Lily to convince him not to let Long Jie succeed him. He had been adamant about not letting Long Jie rule. His father was egotistical and narrow-minded, he couldn’t see the big picture. With his stubbornness clouding his eyes, he was not able to see that in the long run Long Wei and Long Yuan couldn’t lead the family. Zhao Meilin was Long Wei’s weakness and Yuan’s thirst for revenge on Liu Shishi was too deep that he didn’t even care for his life. The head of the family could neither be weak and reckless, moreover a volatile head like Yuan.

Therefore, Long Jie was perfect for the position, with Zhenyi by his side, he’d be the greatest leader the family and ever seen. And their kids would take the family to even greater heights. Xin Yichen valued his blood more than anything, and Zhenyi’s and Jie’s kids would be the first generation Long supported by Xins.

“Managing the Long groups and leading the family are two different things, Shaoming,” Elder Long flared up. He was mindful of his son’s plan, and he would have supported it too if Xins and Long Jie were not present in the equation.

“It indeed is. But I trust that my son will lead the family to even greater heights,” Long Shaoming said keeping his gaze on his father.

” I do not support your decision, ” The old man stubbornly said through gritted teeth.

“It has to be done. There was no benefit in delaying the inevitable. ”

“Shaoming — ”

“Rule no. 33: It depends solely on the current head of the family to leave or take over his position. If I remember correctly, this is the last rule you framed. “

“Good night, father. I have got nothing more to speak,” said Long Shaoming and shows his father the route out of the room.

Elder Long shut the door with a loud thud. When he came out of the room, he saw Long Jie leaning against the wall and grinning devilishly.

“You get what you always wanted, didn’t you? ” Elder Long grunted in anger.

“I get what I always deserved,” Long Jie replied with another grin.

“But you won’t keep it up for long. Mark my words,” Elder Long Snapped.

“And who will take it away from me? You? You won’t live for another five years, your sons will never agree with you and your other grandson, well, they can’t take what I deserve away from me. And your little snitch? My wife can handle her alone.” Long Jie mocked him.

“Look at you ugly mut, what are you becoming? You were always a weakling and will always be one. This little courage of yours will be crushed by me again,” Elder Long looked at Long Jie with eyes full of hate and anger but it didn’t affect Long Jie.

Long Jie let out a dark chuckle. “I dare you to try. ”

“Hahaha….dare? Long Jie…Long Jie, can’t you see? Your biggest nightmare is coming true. You are becoming who you truly despise. You are becoming me. Your lust for power, blood, and control is just like mine. You call me twisted. Well, look at you now.” Elder Long was doing everything in his power to provoke Long Jie, but little did he knew, Long Jie was not the same weak and alone little boy anymore.

“Easy old man, I don’t share my father’s fondness for rules. I will break them if I want for putting a bullet in your old skull.”

“You will never, I know it. And I intend to use it against you, ” Elder Long threatened him with an ugly laugh.

“I can’t but someone else who’s waiting to murder you, can,” Long Jie let out casually.

“You married that bitch to irk me? Well, well, she does. Save her Long Jie if you can. I intend to destroy her first and then you.”

“Touch a strand of her hair, old man, and trust me, you will not be able to get six feet land to bury yourself after I watch you bleed to death.” Long Jie was about to snap the old man’s neck but luckily Long Yuan came on right time. The old man’s plan to provoke Long Jie failed again.

“First brother.” Yuan’s shouted to get Long Jie’s attention.

“What happened, Yuan? ” Long Jie asked him.

“Sister- in- law, she–“

“What happened to her? ” Long Jie didn’t even stop to hear his reply before he ran towards the living room.
